What is a Parked Domain?

Parked Domains (Aliases):

Parked Domains (Currently known as Aliases in newer versions of cPanel) are often used to reserve or “hold” a domain name that does not have an associated web site. Parked domains can also be used as placeholders for existing web sites. For example, if you own the example.com domain name, you can park the domain so it redirects to the primary domain of your XtraOrbit Hosting account.

Parked Domains display the same website contents as your primary domain. They also share web statistics as well. However, a Parked Domains can have its own email boxes.

Parked Domains are commonly used in the following situations:

  • You need a place to park a domain for which you do not have a website
  • You have more than one domain that should lead to your primary domain
  • You have common misspellings of your domain name that you have registered
  • Alias, parked-domain
